>party member with extremely high chance to dodge
>dodges the heal
>cast heal on team's Ninja
>Miss!
>he ends up dying from the next enemy attack
>>345304674
>>345304852
Is there actually any game that lets this happen?
>>345305103
Disgaea, but only in the first game.
The Ninja class' SPD stat is so high that he generally dodges about 70% of attacks, but heals as well. I think if he casts heal on himself it won't miss.

Breath of Fire games
you can even avoid Raise
>tfw dancing mad, hypernova ultimate last boss attack
>blocked
based lightning
>>345305103
Etrian Mystery Dungeon, the Sovereign can dodge their own buffs.

>>345305103
I actually started this thread shortly after my Ninja in Disgaea: AoD dodged a heal only to not dodge a lethal enemy attack afterwards.

EMD is so sad. It introduces so many cool things like DOE but is so flawed that it is the worst MD game by far
>go up against a boss with magic attacks
>equip item that decreases magic hit chance by 20%
>try to cast buff that decreases damage done by boss's element
>MISS
>boss casts a strong spell
>low on HP, better cast Heal
>MISS
>get rekt by boss
Guess the game
>>345305527
Hah! That's frustrating. One thing you can do is use healing items if you're ever afraid you won't land the heal.
>>345305448
I remember this. I thought something was wrong with my Sovereign, shit was annoying.
>party member reflect heal
>heal enemy
>>345305287
>>345305341
>>345305448
That's really interesting. I would have thought in any game they would have programmed it so that a character would not dodge any actions done by friendly unit, with the possible exception of an AoE attack.
>>345306034
>the enemy's undead
>>345306246
>turnbased rougelike
>dungeon's theme is a graveyard that has undead enemies who revive themselves after a few turns
>dungeon itself is littered with tombstones
>if you pick up and throw the tombstones at the undead, it perma kills them
>>345306034
Name 2 games that do this
>>345304674
>>345304852
>dodging heals
what
why would such a mechanic exist
>final boss last phase charms your healer
>healer casts a heal on the boss that replenishes all of their health
>have to fight the last phase of the boss all over again
>>345306836
Can they both be final fantasy? Because I know the original version of 12 does. I think 10 might but I'd have to go and double check that.
I'm pretty sure earlier ones do that too, but it's been a long time and I can't say for sure.
>>345306034
that doesn't make sense
it should just come back at you instead
>>345306034
no the case that actually happens is
enemy casts fire
you reflect fire
enemy heals on fire
>>345307526
FF games are set so that casting a spell on an ally with reflect causes it to bounce to the enemy and vice versa. It actually becomes a gimmick in a few boss fights/encounters across the series.
>Chrono Cross
>Eagle eye
>1,1,3
>miss, miss, miss.
>74 damage with 87% chance to hit
>hits for 12
>There are resistances to each element. Fire, earth, light, dark, etc
>Heal spells are light spells
>Party member with high light resistance resists your heal.
>>345309208
god bless weapons with high damage spreads, they always overkill the weak shit and tickle the tough shit.
>everybody in your party's been KO'd
>you ran out of healing items and mana
>you're down to one hit of HP left
>boss is down to one hit of HP left
>you get to hit first
>MISS
>You can get critical heals
>>345309823
fucking darkest dungeon i love this shit
>>345305341
I have literally never had that happen to me in hundreds of hours across all five games.
