Mighty No. 9 will be redeemed by history. It easily had the best dash mechanic of any game of the sort, as well as great enemy& level design, and passable graphics.
A shame about the mouth animations and the Dina business, which game the haters all the excuses they needed to go full-on 100% uninterrupted hate barrage. They'll turn on IGA too for some other unimportant excuse.

They're defending crowdfunding because they depend on it and MN9 was horrible PR for it. But they're fucking retards for going about it this way, because it's such obvious bullshit, and also entirely UNNECESSARY. Lots of genuinely, 100% caveat free solid crowdfunded games have come out. That some of them have also been total shit is absolutely expected, why would crowdfunding be free of bad games anymore then regular funding is? It's always a risk with anything creative.
They'd do better by acknowledging it was a let down, then examining WHY it was a let down, how Inafune blundered (there are plenty of clear examples), compare that to great projects, and explain how they're aiming towards the great examples.
Trying to whitewash absolutely anything just because it's "on their side" though is a sadly common mistake but still a stupid one. It only ever speaks to the already faithful.

Based on what I've seen the game isn't that bad
If it was just some SNES game people would have remembered it as just some Mega Man clone, but it was okay.
