It's one of the more realistic-leaning racing games but once you get the hang of it you can drift like a madman.
It even has a Japanese car pack complete with an Initial D-skinned 86, there lots of custom maps too

Absolute drift is real fun, only downside is it's all time trials and drift point quotas and tricks. No opponents.
Drift Stage is god-tier but there's only one track unless there was some update I don't know about.

In most situations, the answer is still "don't drift". It's rare for drifting to be faster than a regular turn. Even in weaker cars like the Trueno.

It's faster only in certain types of turns and yes shorter wheelbase is better for drifting, tho not for maintaining a drift.
also coupe doesn't mean shorter wheelbase, just that it has two doors.
