How do you feel about low-poly art styles?
I like them, but the general consensus seems to be that no one else really does.

It's like pixel art
It can be done well, it can be shit
I don't like when it's done on purpose. But upscaling old DS/PS1 games gets my dick hard.

As long as they're sharp and the textures don't look like smeared shit, it's fine.
Also not so nice in very busy environments.
It's much easier to argue in favor of pixel art and other minimalistic 2d styles than this simplistic approach in 3d renderings.

>Artstyle
No the DS was only capable of this level garbage.
>>345176694
It wasn't an "art style" on the DS. It was the best that the technology could do

>>345177347
It's still an artstyle.

They look like ass, gen 3 and 4 consoles look much better than PS1 and N64 games.
>>345176694
This looks fine imo.

Some PS1 games still look bomb. Upscaled MGS1 with AA is awesome.
I like low poly models as long as the textures are clear. I dont mind if you can see the pixelation on the textures either though, makes it look like 3D pixel art.

If it's intentional, sure. But it can't be on the DS because you don't have a choice for 3D games.

Depends on the game but I prefer pixelated textures to blurred textures a lot of the time. Mega Man Legends looks way better than Mega Man 64.

Blured textures can be quite effective when trying to convey imagery that could not be very clearly represented otherwise.
I fuckin' love em
