There is only one thing you said there that has any merit and that's that the browser UI is garbage. That being said the second you download the app all of those problems are fixed.

I switched from a paid Mumble server to Discord and it has been pretty good. I'm still a bit concerned about the company, in regards to their past, the fact that it isn't open source, and how it's absolutely free right now. They announced they're going to monetize it with cosmetic stuff, but I don't think that's going to work at all, specially when you can already do pretty much everything with a custom CSS, both on your browser and with BetterDiscord for desktop. I still like how easy everything is to setup, how easy you can join and meet new people, and how you just need one piece of software to text chat, voice chat and share stuff, instead of 2 or 3.

Discord works better for me than skype/vent/teamspeak ever did
