SMW has annoying physics. It feels like you're strapped to a lead weight every time you jump.
The world design is also better in SMB3.

I like the exploration more, the cape while easily abuseable is real fun, Yoshi is a thing and I prefer the physics & how Mario controls in it.. SMB.3 is still very good though.

The cape can easily break levels so the leaf is used more for balance.
World. Levels are longer.
The Athletic Theme is better too.
3 is best mario game ever.
3 has more variation in environments (8 completely different worlds versus 2-3 recycled ones) and music (World has literally ONE THEME going throughout the whole fucking thing, 3 by contrast has multiple melodies that are never recycled), as well as more ingenious level design and a deeper sense of challenge.
The choice is easy.

I did grow up with super mario 3 and i love it, but honestly even i never had access to the super Nintendo at home i think super mario world is a better and more fleshed out game in every way.
What if we restructured the world of 3 to fit into one big overworld like SMW so it would be much easier to revisit levels to find secrets.

I love 3 for the challenge and selection of different worlds.
SMW is better though, too many amazing additions to not like it more.

I played SMW first, as I had a snes before I new that games came in the before times.
I prefer to go back and play 3 for the variety and challenge. SMW is fine to stroll through but it it has the same problems NSMB has. Too easy.Unless you go to special

3 is surperior in literally everything except graphics and map system. If it had the All Stars graphics and the map system of World, it'd be perfect. Yoshi's pretty cool too, I guess

except they are pretty rare and very easy to lose, at least if the cape isn't around you can still rely on flying koopas, if you want to defend 3 over World you can go with the game being more challenging, World is so fucking easy you can beat 100% in two days with enough cape abuse, 3 has a bunch of shit that keeps you from skipping everything and even punishes you sometimes
I never understood why 3 didn't have the World style map, 3 obviously had a lot of overworld secrets and just as many level secrets, to force players to just find a few in each playthrough was cruel
