Golden Sun is babby's first JRPG because it was designed for a system for children that had little to play aside from F-Zero in 2001. F-Zero: Maximum Velocity is far more worthwhile of a game than Golden Sun.

Literally the best "tactics" game I've ever played, and I've sank hundreds of hours into FFT, FFTWotL, FFTA, FFTA2, Disgaea, etc.

The Symphony of the Night portion is debatable. It's an entirely different version. It's got the Japanese familiars that we didn't get in NA, and playable Maria like the Saturn version, but she's got an entirely different moveset than she did in Saturn. She's also a boss fight.
The only drawback of the PSP SotN is the new voice acting. Everyone wanted the "What is a man" memes.

Yes? You can just mash a and normal battles end in less than 10 seconds, you can even skip battle animations. There's no ''waiting bar'' like in say, FF6. You can also prepare yourself pre-battle by setting up your djinns to have your summons ready and unleash crazy powerful attacks, which like I said can be skipped.

Especially in those retarded in-house maps that people love for some reason even though they all have tight one-unit-thick corridors where you can put your OP unit (in this case Hector, Lyn, Dart etc.) and watch the enemy units commit suicide one by one.
Same with the other GBA Fire Emblems, I beat FE6 with the green haired nomad girl and fucking everyone can solo FE8, even Seth who's supposed to be the chapter 1 paladin that would never get much stronger in any other FE but he does anyway and is still OP by the end of the game, but I used Tana in my playthrough and she also becomes unstoppable after getting the anti-arrow shield.

Also I'm not saying that it's bad because it's easy, Mario 3 is easy but it's still a good game. The thing is that with Fire Emblem, all sense of skill and strategy go out the window once you find out the overpowered units and then you don't have to do anything other than let your units curbstomp the game on their own. It's like if in Mario you found an item that removed all enemies and obstacles for the rest of the game and all you had to do was just run to the goal in each level.

You don't quite understand how containment boards work.
While it's true that you'll still have the odd thread about old games, the fact that a board for that specifically draws away the most virulent of the shitposters. Barring Pokemon Go's recent release, there's virtually never a Pokemon thread on /v/. And the same for Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, etc. All of the people that actually want to suck each other's dicks about the game are drawn to the containment board where they can throw shit at each other and wax nostalgic about it.
It effectively destroys any interest on the main board. /vp/ was one of the best things to happen to both /a/ and /v/ simultaneously.
The last things to make /v/ better is getting rid of e-celeb cancer and rolling up the "retro" bracket in /vr/.

Was really a great little system. Admittedly, the SP was the most important mid-cycle refresh for a handheld--and possible console---of all time. The backlight and small form factor really made the GBA a handheld force to be reckoned with.

Also, it's not as fast paced as it could be since attacks target dead enemies. You could kill one enemy with one character but if every other character were attacking that same enemy that turn, all of their attacks would be wasted.

Different times. Back in 2002 portable emulation was a twinkle in the eyes of the emulation scene. Smart phones were just begin their conception and most of /v/ was barely two years old.
We were more tolerated of mixed quality ports if that meant we could play Donkey Kong Country on the go. Those ports were light years ahead of the Genesis-Game Gear and NES/SNES-GBC translations and are very much playable--even in their uncorrected retail releases.

You don't even have that move, Dullahan and Doom Dragon do. Also most normal battles can be finished almost instantly with just attacking with either the regular attack or the summons, if you pre-prepared them.

That is indeed a flaw, however even then it's still way faster than most jrpgs that make you wait and don't let you skip battle animations, like FF6, mind you that I still like FF6 more overall but GS' dungeons are way more interesting because of all the psynergy puzzles.
