I wouldn't recommend it for AMD's 7970 and R9 280X because those are bitcoin mining cards, but GTX shouldn't be problematic so long as you can see the card perform. 750ti is a workhorse, xbone to ps4 quality card depending on game and settings. Basically supplaneted by the 950 at this point though if your PSU can take it.
the really unique factor of the 750ti is the reference versions not needing any power connectors so I runs great on ultrapoorfag machines or prebuilts.
