Because that would require two different endings. One for those who wanted to play the final episode as a gimp and one for those who didn't. TWD is unironically one of my favorite games, but TT really needs to stop pretending my choices matter outside of a few dialogue options/lines.

I don't watch the show or read the comic but didn't they make a point in this game that everyone is already infected and that even natural death will cause you to become a zombie so long as your head in intact? So does an actual bite kill you with a fever/sickness or does it accelerate your turning or something? I don't remember if they explained this.

I only watched season one of the show and I think they indeed found out that everyone is already infected and a zombie bite just makes you really sick so you die faster
