My favorite thing about this scene is the subtlety. It's actually supposed to be an emotional scene with uncle Dante finding some form of closure with Vergil through Nero. It would've been too easy to spoonfeed us and tell us Dante's thoughts but by not doing so, they made this scene so much better.

Nero is Vergil's son and all the side material all but say it. DMC4SE's intro for Vergil has a young woman looking at Vergil JUST so they could show Nero's mother. And least ambiguous of all is that Dante at the end says it when he says that Yamato should stay in the family.

Its not fanwank when Dante implies it when he tells Nero to keep Yamato because the sword is a family heirloom and should stay in the family. Nero can't be Sparda's son because Sparda was already dead by the time Nero was born. He's not Dante's kid so the only other option is Vergil and the game goes well out of its way to imply its him.
OP made this thread talking about subtlety in 4's story telling and yet there are still mongoloids out there who refuse to believe it just because it wasn't spoonfed to them through exposition.
This shouldn't even be up for debate and people shouldn't have to look into artbooks when Dante fucking says that Nero is part of the family in the ending cutscene.

It's cool to see so many people still pick up DMC and finding it super fun to this day.
DMC4SE was a re-release of an 8 year old game and still new fans are streaming in because there is simply nothing else like it on the market these days. I am interested in seeing if DMC4SE breaks 1 million sales next fiscal. 1 million for DMCHD is pretty insane.
