Only if it's too easy. Not being challenged isn't fun unless it's as a reward for getting past something difficult (i.e. the end of Metroid: Zero Mission). Everyone should enjoy being challenged, it makes getting past the challenge all the morefun

Depends on how it's difficult.
If it's a game where I get shot and killed from a mile away in one instant where the only way out is to take advantage of dumb AI or be lucky, yes.

Things like Touhou are problems because:

If it's not horseshit. I gave up on the last boss of NG3RE because the entire boss was just 2 hours of tedious fighting enemies while your magic gauge builds up.
If it's too easy, yeah. There's no satisfaction in playing a game when my chance of winning the first try is 100%

Not really, when i get to a difficult part i tend to keep playing well past the point where it stopped being fun.
i almost gave up on persona 4 because of that 8-bit boss it was shit

If it's too hard, no. No it doesn't. In fact, it makes me try harder to conquer it. If it's too easy, then really that's debatable as it could be fun as fuck and still be easy but if it's boring and easy then that turns me off from playing it.
