Kratos got his ass kicked in a fight by a barbarian and begged Ares for power, the pussiest God of the Greek pantheon, the one that got his shit kicked in by Athena so badly that he laid his head on Zeus' lap and literally cried tears over it.

Sora fought and defeated the cooler and more powerful versions of Greek Gods and Titans, such as Hercules and Hades, as well as other greek beasts. The versions Kratos fought were weaker and fucking boring.

Sora has fought and defeated Sephiroth and almost a quarter of the more powerful Final Fantasy characters. Kratos has not and could not.
Sora is a better character than Kratos. If Shadow the Hedgehog is just an edgy Sonic recolor, then Kratos is just an edgy Achilles recolor. The entire plot of God of War is just shitty Greek fanfiction written by a manchild.
