/v/? What game gave you such a satisfying ending? Could bring a tear to your eye, or/and just so heart warming you feel like you just finished a satisfying book.
Wind Waker, the ending credits just made me smile and tear up a bit seeing Tetra and Link smiling, the music, it was wonderful.
Also final fantasy 9's ending was just heart warming when I finished it again, I can tell it's not nostalgia when seeing such a nice well nitted ending.

What endings made you feel a similar way?

Op here
Bravely Second made me happy, I guess I'm a sap for happy endings.
>>
>>344975613
yeah, Red Dead Redemption
>>
>>344975760
I couldn't care less for the travesty of a story in this lazy B-team sequel. BD was so much better.
Gameplay/UI improvements were alright, I guess.
>>
I really liked the ending to Jak 3. Nice wrap up to the story.
>>
>>344976023
I just liked the ending is all, but I can see why people didn't like it as much of the first.
I was just happy to see some closure.
>>
>>344975309
Persona 3/4's endings gave me a lump in my throat the first time. Most Zelda games also have really satisfying endings in my opinion.
>>
>>344976120
Except with the girl, that made no sense.
Then his old flame just treated him like shit.
>>
>>344976187
>closure
Didn't you see the post-credits scene? Was it even post-credits?
The one about Ringabel working for the inter-dimensional police, boss of which is apparently Blackberry.
>>
>>344976253
I would agree but OoT was sad to me, and twilight was meh.
>>
>>344976339
I'm talking about Agnes and Tiz and with Yew and magnolia, that's why I said "some closure"
>>
>>344976561
I said most, but what's sad about Oot? Don't you just save the princess and everyone dances a little jig?
>>

Midna leaving was pretty heartbreaking
>>
>>344976656
It was Navi leaving with no good bye or nothing I guess.
>>344976729
Yeah for some reason I didn't feel it as bad as I felt for the King of red lions. Just staying underwater forevah.
>>
>>344975309
The Cat Lady. Got the golden ending and having seen the rest of the crazy shit in that game it felt nice.
>>
>>344976628
>Yew and magnolia
Absolutely disgusting.
Magnolia went from a cheeky action girl she was in the secret movie to a meek submissive japanese housewife in the sequel.

>>

I got halfway but the combat just felt like such a chore to me. I really enjoyed the story though, so I'll probably pick it up again at some point. Just wish those awful, piss easy battles were better.
>>
Devil May Cry 3 for me. Always get goosebumps when I see M20 end cutscene and the epilogue.
>>
>>344977042
It's pretty much the exact same turn based combat as in any other JRPG including P3/4. Except you get the cool team fusion attacks in P2.
Yeah, Innocent Sin is really easy, you can get carried by just the starting personae. Eternal Punishment is better in that regard.

Freespace 2 sacrifice ending was probably one of the best ones. Surprising considering that the game didn't really build any characters or anything but it still made me feel awesome.

Mass Effect 1 ending was neat too. Simple but good

>>
>>344975309

Killer 7, Shadow of the Colossus, Crusader: No Regret, Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn, Myth 2: Soulblighter, Red Dead Redemption, Spec OPs: the Line, Max Payne 3, Metro: 2033, Bastion, Cave Story+, Disciples II: Dark Prophecy, Majora's Mask

For various reasons. Blast Corps as a kid because I fucking almost drove myself insane trying to beat it.

>>344977225
That delivery is brilliant.
>>
Let's do this
>>
>>344975309
Metal Gear Solid 2.

Despite its heavy-handedness, I thought it was curiously idiosyncratic, sincere, and overwhelmingly appropriate given the rest of the game. In many ways MGS2 remains Kojima's crowning achievement in terms of both game design and thematic exploration.
>>
>>344978130
Blast Corps was so rewarding though. I didn't expect to go into space let alone get every planet.

>Blast Corps was so rewarding though. I didn't expect to go into space let alone get every planet.

Sure but if I ever have a heart attack before 30 it will be because of residual damage caused by playing blast corps as a kid.
>>

Go back and replay it. Took me about 2 eveningsworth of playing. Might help you get over it.
>>
>>344977393

Still haven't played past Zue. Fuck, I really need to finish that game.
>>
There was an old Blades of Exile module someone made where your party goes forward in time to have a peek, then come back

there was a pretty heartwarming ending where you can settle down with a horrible worm monster and completely abandon your mission in favor of a simple farming life

it was an early CRPG so it was really just good textual writing that made it

>>344978240
the best part of MGS2 being so touching and surreal and generally a great narrative is that kojima didn't actually write it

unsurprisingly, MGS got overcomplicated without being good around MGS3, where he started taking more creative control. The resident gun nerd got fired or left between MGS3 and 4, which is why the series took the turn into outright military fantasy that it did
>>
>>344978643
>Go back and replay it. Took me about 2 eveningsworth of playing. Might help you get over it.

I have. And like most games I played as a kid its a metric fuckton easier. But it was the only game other than mario games that my parents had.

It was like the first or second video game I ever played.
>>
AC Rogue surprisingly enough. Didn't bring a tear or anything but I thought it was better than it had any right to be. Assassin's Creed's B team is better than the A team.
>>
I really liked the ending to TF2
