I think that the dialogue in NV isn't really that good(still way better than F3 ). most of the time you get 3 options: nice, neutral(usually something to do with demanding caps for your work) and mean. the rest is just asking questions about stuff. As a guy who has started playing in non hc I would say go for it. The stakes are really low in non hc, any damage can be negated by sleeping for an hour and since your followers cannot die you can use them as meat for stronger enemies, let them "die" and get up after the fight is over.

Nah, you don't have to like him, in fact I hate him as a person, but he is a character that was well designed with character traits that were stuck to.
He's selfish and can'tlet goof anything and, in that, he reaches his characteristics out to fit the theme of the DLC.
You can suck up to the celebrity like he'd been used to for so many years, the fame being his lasting memory of the old world keeping him alive, something to focus on, which is why he wouldn't shut up about being the best and stay in his good graces by feeding into his mental issues, or you can trample the star's delusions about being revered and have him hate you.
