Shit game that I'm not even going to name as I hate even the idea of anyone supporting them (beside it is just a fucking MUD, it isn't like any of the underage here would even be able to enjoy it anyway) but they did have a few entertaining ideas.
You could play as a Naga. To explain it simply for anyone who don't know the "Medusa race" though Medusa is a name of a special naga, not the species name itself.
Anyway you took up 2 tiles and you have a special shape-shifting ability which start off with you simply turning into a weaker frog just in case you need to become 1 tile in size to move. Depending on your current form you will unequipped equipment. Kinda hard to wear boots if you lack legs again. Endgame you can turn into a Hydra (eight headed snake on this game) with will allow you to equip 8 necklaces funny enough and being an old school game necklaces were often extremely powerful magical items with great effects. Slap on eight regen ones for example and you will become basically immortal.
It just a shame the dev and his group of "wizards" (mods) are just asshats. Simply talking at the wrong moment is an automatic ban for a week.

It sucked in Morrowind though how Khajiit and Argonians couldn't wear boots or gauntlets. I guess you could make an alternative armor set specifically for them, but that would make loot more complicated. I think SWTOR makes the most sense, non-humanoid characters can have armor, it just isn't visible. That way at least you get the same stat bonuses as other races.

Wildstar is weird.
When you list all the features out it sounds like a game that I should fucking love.
Its a sci-fi action-y mmo with neat races and a relatively interesting artstyle.
But I just don't enjoy playing it, the races all feel like they're lacking something, the sci-fi kind of misses the mark and the artstyle is mostly just kind of shallow.
I think its just that it's trying to be what I would consider the "perfect" mmo, so I can't look past the flaws to enjoy what good there actually is.

Bethesda beast races are shit, they have interesting lore, but very dull appearance, what I really like is the Bethesdas take on elves, Merish races actually look alien and distinct from humans
they arent just tall and skinny treehuggers, interestingly enough the Bosmer, the treehuggers of the setting, are brutal cannibals and shapeshifters, are closer to khajit then other mer, and are likely ancestors of a significant portion of the monsters you see in the setting

Not really. Animal races like lizards, cats, bugs, etc were the norm for every fantasy fictional setting prior to somewhere mid-80s or so. Initial lore Bethesda put into TES was horrendous, in case you forgot about Abecean sea, until Daggerfall and more importantly Morrowind.
