This team is just broken. Aigis has all of the main buffs in the game, Aki has every debuff and Yukari can heal. They also all have high damage output and Aigis is super tanky.

I used mitsuru, dog meister 3000, and aki. I had the protag heal when necessary. Giving mitsuru the bonus ice damage item made her pretty okay. I figured out how to make her cast the double spell damage spell and then her ice spell.

It's not bad per se, but it removes in-game cut scenes and animated cut scenes and replaces them with text descriptions,which can leave the narrative feeling somewhat disjointed and watered down, it's basically a visual novel with the only 3D sections being the dungeon.
It also removes some other really cool things such as multiple weapons for MC and reducing fusion spells be a one use item.
Honestly you should play FES first, P3P is best kept for replays of P3 with the female protagonist option, which compliments the normal P3 route quite nicely, whilst also feeling different enough to warrant another play through .

Play P3P definitely if you're coming from Persona 4.
The gameplay of P3 is gimped since the npcs on your team act on their own so the element of RNG is there even if you can influence your teams strategy. FES is the most complete story wise but still has the shitty gameplay.
I say play the male MC in P3P then Female MC in a second quick run and harem antics.And read the afterstory of the answer on the wiki

No. Aigis and Akihiko are the best combo. Aigis has every buff, Akihiko has every debuff. With the two of them together, you can really maximize MC's damage (since he's generally gonna be the only one who's gonna do any damage that's worth a damn anyway).

Walking back there and seeing the door gone was the heaviest hit I've ever had in a game yet.

I like dungeon crawlers and i like Persona but i dislike a lot of things that etrian odissey does, i really dislike the leveling skill system and the brutal difficulty that turns the game into a grindfest.

It has an auto-map, at least, so that's not. I get the appeal of making your own map, but I find that it really breaks up the pacing of any game that has it. I never liked having to stop every couple of steps to update my map.

You get to make your own map like in EO but there's no leveling skill system, rather everyone can equip a sub-persona that gives them bonus HP and SP and gives access to more moves. Its also easier than Etrian Odyssey games in general but it can still be challenging
