Gameplay wise was fun. But the true ending shit all over the message from FFX which was to let go what is important to you and acceptation of your death.
It only gets worse as the FFX 2.5 book was released and Tidus dies in the first couple of chapters and Yuna can just bring him back to life whenever she wants, burying the original message even further. They are planing on making a game for it.

Job system was interesting but overall not particularly great, the jobs didn't really lead to substantially different strategies. ATB is a flaw. The combo attack thing was okay but other games do it much better. Overall I preferred the battle system from ffx.

I would say IX is about accepting death.
X is about knowing when to move on, not just from death.
They're still really close in the message department.

FFX 2.5 takes place after the True ending where Tidus comes back to life. (2.5 is canon btw, which is why I hate it so much more then I should)

OP, this game never actually happened. It was just fan service.
Final Fantasy X ended when the Fayth stopped dreaming and Tidus faded away. It was a bitter sweet ending but the world was saved and Tidus was an absolute hero in every sense of the word.
