But anyone who is aware is going to know most adults don't play mainline Pokemon, so personally anyways the only way I'd feel really wierded out by someone through Pokemon Go would be if they were going up to a group talking like everyone is going to know all about later gens and the games. I'd think that person is either unfortunately kind of dumb, or they're trying to show off in a really nerdy way like "I know more about Pokemon than you". At least, if they persisted. Like they were just casually name dropping obscure Pokemon and talking about game mechanics without acknowledging that nobody knows what they're talking about.

Where I lived growing up, it basically was you liked whatever in elementary but if you are still playing it in late middle school and all of high school it was bad. Those kids got fucked up and basically thrown in the band hall by the muscle dicks that had huge hard on for football and lax.

The second middle school started it was basically a death wish to show any signs of Pokemon fandom. It was better to be a jew in Nazi Germany than a kid with a Pokemon keychain in a suburban middle school in America. I remember a few people I knew still did it and were ridiculed. Most of us couldn't hang out with them and they became outcasts. But eventually they got together and made their own isolated groups that lasted through high school.
The only thing I really liked about Pokemon was the show. But once the show started turning to shit (Ash letting go Charizard did it for me) there was no magic behind it anymore. Today it's just nostalgia fueling this whole craze and that's it. Nintendo's next Wii is going to be nostalgia and it will print them money again.
