Sean says the game weighs 6gb and most of that is audio. That worries me because although procedural generation cuts down on space, a few gigs doesn't sound like a whole lot to have varied assets. For an example, let's say there's 40 different possible heads for birds. Sounds like a lot, but after some moderate exploration you'll start to pick up on it. If they made 100 heads and conversely took up more disc space, you'd get a lot more variety and less of a chance of spotting the smoke and mirrors.

In Mincraft you can take from the land freely as you see fit and use the materials found to craft not only tools and items but can also use their raw form as the beginnings of your shelter and other facilities.
In No Man's Sky you can only take from designated features and when you do clairvoyant robots rain down and proceed to hound you until you're either dead or you leave the planet, and the materials you found are only for your spaceship and gun.
In Minecraft the world is your oyster, you can actually do anything and go anywhere given that you have the means to do so. If you don't like something then you can change it as you see fit.
In No Man's Sky every world is a "look don't touch", you don't have any power over the worlds you go to nor can you actually interact with its features on a level beyond destruction.

I was arguably this game's target audience to a tee. I didn't give a fuck about crafting elements, I wanted this to be the world's first antisocial mmo. A game where people can hang out together and socialize...so I can avoid them everytime they show up and fly off to some other planet, living on my own like a hermit.
