Dean Hall was a modder, not an experienced game dev. He stepped down to let people more experienced handle the game.

I bought it on hype and thought they would fix the framerate issues from Arma 2. When I saw it runs the same as Arma 2 I just couldnt be bothered with 40fps anymore.
Might reinstall and try the singleplayer, there was no singleplayer on launch.

MGS has always been a series focused on story telling, in MGSV you basically don't get a story, the most important parts about the plot are explained through optional audio logs that you can totally miss, also the story itself has a lot of plot holes, also the main character barely talks, when he talked a lot in past games.

The subs are decent. If you know a little japanese it certainly helps with the immersion but they are okay.

After 2k+ hours on mod and standalone, i can say that Chernarus is a PRETTY BAD MAP for the game, people only spawning on the coastline and the map being so big really makes it hard to get pvp.

Frankly, not having base building should count as a positive in favor of the SA, since Base Building is the cancer that killed DayZ and infecting a lot of other shitty survival clones.

The original Metro AI will randomly see you through fucking walls, randomly not see you if you're literally in front of them, do not drop alert levels even after disappearing from view, automatically detect you if you leave cover even if they're all facing the other way and you're obscured in darkness, instantly alert everyone the second they see you even if you kill them before they can make a noise, and do retarded fucking shit like throw grenades at the walls they saw you through and blow themselves up. Monster AI wasn't too bad and had similar issues to Redux with Demons grabbing you through shit and what-not, but Librarians were a total mess that would go into agro mode before you even see them sometimes due to the seeing through walls shit.
