I really, really tried to force myself to like 3 & 4 but I just couldn't. 3 has the absolute worst story, most dumbed down SMT battle system, and absolutely shit level design. 4 slightly improves the story by having better characters, but they all turn out to be anime cliches. Gameplay stays shit, as does level design.
Are they changing ANY of this stuff with 5?
Ontop of hoping P5 is a great game, I just want Atlus to reuse those assets for a proper console Megaten game

No. Hoshino's characters and plots are always fucking atrocious, accompanied by a repetitive slog of a gameplay and nonexistent level design.
I lost so much interest in this game when they confirmed no Japanese audio.
Now I have to choose between butchered sound on PS4 it butchered performance if I pirate the undub on PS3.

P4's problem is how restrictive dungeoning is. P3 only takes up your night, P4 takes up day and night so the social link/celendar and the actual gameplay are a lot more at odds with each other.

Because it is the current year, and a little coordination between the branches wouldn't kill them. Companies, and people, are suppose to push themselves to improve over time, not shrug and say "it's always been this way."
