I'm glad it was cancelled, it would have been shit.

The fact that is was going to be a handheld exclusive (especially that it was a handheld exclusive) and relied on fans to basically make the game for them showed that Capcom was never really serious about the project to begin with.
>>
>>344718049
Capcom cancelled it because it "wasn't meeting internal quality standards". Back then it looked like they were just dismissing fans' concerns, but after all this time, really makes you think.

What a shame.

In that case, it was actually in development at Vancouver but Japan killed it.

it was okay

honestly, I didn't buy a 3DS for that (actually, I probably wouldn't have bought one until the N3DS came out if my original 2004 DS didn't finally die on me with broken L/R buttons and a cracked top screen), but it not coming out was disappointing

I'd rather get another MMBN than any more fucking Starforce. Shit, just use Lan's kid to reboot things if they need plot.

Not sure why they didn't make a MMBN game for Wii U where the gamepad acts as your PET.
>>
>>344718419

Ono still fighting to get it made. I kind of don't want it out of fear that they'll fuck it up, but a new one could be cool.

They cancelled it because not enough people paid for the alpha demo and didn't give them every single idea to make the game.
>>
>>344718450
I guess, but it's nearly T. Hawks level of dumb.
>>
>>344717670
With how MN9 was handled, I'd rather it just stay dead. Even in Red Ass actually comes out, I ain't touching that shit.

If you paid into it you got access to the dev room and you would later receive access to a demo where you could run around.

Plenty of people did, but like Phil Fish, they took the money and ran.

Why even bother? Most people don't care about any games but Mega Man 2.

>People enjoyed games that I don't care about!
>Boy I'm glad they don't get to enjoy any sequels!
This is what you sound like right now. MN9 was divine justice upon your lot.
>>
Considering Inafune is a hack who didn't actually create MM, and wasn't even the director of most of the MM games he takes credit for, and has proven with MN9 that he can't make good games, now seems like the ideal time for more MM games.

He's gone from Capcom, and they refuse to work with him or let him make MM games, so MM could potentially be good again.

As long as they stick to vanilla/X/Legends and not non-MM garbage.
>>
>>344720432
>so MM could potentially be good again
Doubt it. What made the games people love so much special were multiple factors that aren't possible today.
>>
>>344720432
Legends is already as non-MM as it could get, kek.
Capcom should just dust off that Mega Man Universe game and put it out as Mega Man Maker. Ez money.
>>
>>344720173
>MN9 was divine justice upon your lot
>implying I was invested in mn9 at any point in time
project a little harder why don't you, you seem triggered enough.
>>
>>344718943
The only reason Battle Network existed was to take advantage of the fact that cell phones and Tamagotchis were the Hot New Thing. Without that "novelty" Capcom sees no reason to have interest in it.

Funnily enough, its plots were cyberterrorists threatened the world were considered goofy at the time, but now cyberterrorism is taken seriously.
>>
>>344719008
Inafune does a thing sometimes when he saps money and manpower from other projects to do his own thing. For example, when making Dead Rising and Lost Planet, Dead Rising was not approved at first, and Lost Planet was given a pitifully small budget. What he did was he made demos so ludicrously expensive (by stealing resources from other games) that his higher-ups would lose face cancelling it. Then, he released highly polished demoes to prove that there was interest.

This was the 3rd time Inafune tried to pull this stunt with MM Legends 3, but the other execs grew wise to his covetous, sticky ways
>>
>>344717341
I'm still waiting. I will never stop waiting. I will never buy a capcom game new until they Release Legends 3.
>>
>>344721260
tamagotchis were the hot new thing 10 years before the release of battle network
>>
>>344720614
If they pulled off a "Megaman Maker" half as good as Mario Maker, I'd buy it. I loved making my own stages in Powered Up. Sadly that died real quick.
>>
>>344721913
they tried making a megaman maker and cancelled it
>>
>>344718353
fixed
>>
>>344720614
Legends is a hell of a lot more MM than BN and SF.
>>
>>344718943
I need more MMBN. I need MMBN 7.

Fuck you, Capcom.
