Influencer marketing is now a thing is way more fields than just video games. Bloggers/YouTuber get paid or receive "free" services/goods in exchange of positive reviews.
There aren't 36 ways to operate. Either you, the consumer, starts to PAY for the Press you read or whatever other media you consume so reviewers only rely on YOUR money to provide you with neutral reviews, either you want shit for free (i.e. watch Youtube and read websites that are "free") and you'll get reviews which are favorable toward whoever is paying.
And guess who is paying for video games? Video game companies... Advertising on press sites? Game companies. YouTubers? All paid directly and indirectly by publishers.
Blame consumers for wanting something neutral and free. That simply doesn't exist at a large scale (you'll always find exceptions and some ethical reviewers, but they're a minority).

As much as i agree with this lets be honest in saying it has nothing more to do with the fact that the normal population sees videogames as a joke.
When it comes to any other industry people will care and even if they dont care about the topic they will still think ethics in it are good. From pop culture to sports, they have the same amount of relevance as video games (seeing as even just skin trading is a multi billion dollar industry) but are just seen as way more series just because "video games are for kids"
