The idea of "games aging like milk" definitely conceals that it's actually gamers themselves who turn into something rotten.
If games age at all, it's because their sequels and successors have treated us too well and it's naturally too hard to go back.

True, shooting is even worse than in sequels and it's paced extremely badly. I sort of like the idea that the story happens during one day (excluding the beginning stuff) as compactness is always cool, but it just isn't enough to save it.
I know this is a bait thread, but DaS1 somehow still looks and plays on par with the sequels.
I don't know if it's just more tightly crafted environments and lightning, but I wouldn't really be able to tell if DaS2 came after it or not, just from watching gameplay fotage.
Demon's looks a little janky at parts like the tutorial and the bottom of Latria, but also has some really impressive textures for its time and plays perfectly fine, what a strange thing to say.
