What were they thinking placing this thing in 1st chapter?
I've completed all the quests so far. I'm level 8. I've got the best gear. I take swallow and some that damage boost potion before fighting. And I can't take more than 2 tentacles before losing. It's ridiculous!

It's also pretty ridiculous how big it is, I don't think Geralt ever fought something that size and he's still pretty confident about it.

It was practically "spam X to not die: The Boss".

How do people struggle with this fight? You can even get an optional trap from the Elf that will destroy the tentacle when it hits so you don't even have to swing your sword.

Also I collected and used all the beartraps I could find.
I thought the first cave full of nekkers was harder. They should have made that boss fight more difficult to reward the players who actually bothered to prepare for the fight, which is what witchers are supposed to do. Then after that everything becomes easier and easier, and you never have to prepare for anything ever again.
If you have quen on you can absorb the hit
Then set up the Yrden trap.
If you use a potion use one to refill mana
The boss can be done at any level
