You only needed to set up like 2 combos and just mashed through the fights, it's not like they are any more entertaining in the sequels.
The series is all about the cute girls and to get to the cute parts you have to get through the boring shit as fast as possible.
Running around like a retard trying to get that last enemy into the corner of your attack range is literally the most annoying shit I've ever had to do in a video game.
The guy who translated the first 3 was fucking horrendous. He basically rewrote it all into a meme filled mess. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10. It's not deep but it's a game about cute girls doing cute things so what the fuck did you expect from it?

I've been enjoying the Re;Birth1 for the past week. You can also use Japanese audio to get more out of the dialogue, because the localised translations are a bit, well, I don't really know what they were thinking. For some reason they opted to completely ignore large chunks of the humorous banter in place of something plain and in other parts decided to add quips and even character traits which aren't at all in the Japanese.
It's enjoyable, all in all, and the characters are cute.

I'll ask in this thread. When I played the first game (the ps3) one it took fucking ages to get boss health down but I was never in any danger. Then I played rebirth and it was basically the same.

You don't really need to grind for the story content but it is impossible to get all the extra content stuff without grinding. In a couple of hours, if that, you can basically be at the end game chapter of the story if you replay the game with newgame+. The added content packs raise the level cap to 999 and the unlockable coliseum has fights with suggested levels all the way up 999.

If you aren't using EXE attacks, start doing so. The game basically shift from breaking enemies and using power combos to using rush combos, filling up EXE bars and spamming EXE attacks.
