Torb can put his turret in a doorway and have Reinhardt block it which can make capping points nightmarish. Molten Core is OP too (should have a slower charge and/or not act like a healer for his turret, i.e. just adding 500 health instead of always bumping it up to 8). The Reinhardt thing is something I can pretty much consistently use to win on Hanamura point A; two or three guys can hold the main gate while the rest pick off attackers coming in the window or hunt kills in the streets in front of the arcade. And his ultimate charges much faster than most others in the game and makes his turret tedious to fight even if it started at 1 health unless your team wants to co-ordinate (and we're talking about the console version here, so let's not pretend anyone in a pub ever wants to co-ordinate anything). He's not in a place where he's really OP, just not really fun to play against.

As mentioned I think the only bullshit is how it instantly locks on people a mile behind him. And to a certain degree how there is no fall off or loss of accuracy with distance. I've been playing comp mode and haven't really seen much of that but I'll admit it hasn't been any sort of true high level play. Still pubs. But as far as balance goes for multiplayer only fps goes, I think it has started out pretty well.

He's easily counterable if there's only one of him. Pharah, Genji, Either sniper, or Junkrat from around corners take out the turrets easy. You can also have a shielding reinhart take the turret's attention and then a lot more people can walk up and destroy the turret.
Once the turret is down your team advances quite a bit because it's nearly impossible for a Torbjorn to set up a new turret near where there's fighting going on. It takes him too long to upgrade. That's why he's not used in competitive. Setup takes too long, too easily countered.

Fair enough, there's been one or two times a guy's called for healing and I've been like "Oh shit, yep, here ya go." Don't claim to be a perfect healer, sometimes you hesitate a sec and lose a guy, or have to get ultimate feels when you have to watch a teammate die because they just refuse to get in your LoS so you can fly to 'em. But I've also had times where people would legit start spamming the 'I need healing!' bullshit, and believe me, I know. People that do that shit I stop healing altogether if I'm not DJ Skaterboi.

There are more factors to take into consideration. Torbjorn's turret is weak as shit, only console players going up against a full team of enemy Torbjorns are having issues. Meanwhile Torb is almost useless on PC.
Engineer's Sentry is a powerful point defense that deters the majority of the cast (and most don't have a way around it, you'd need a soldier/demo/Heavy ubercharge) and the Engineer most of the time camps his ass behind it with a Dispenser making Metal a nonissue.
Torbjorn's Turret is more akin to the Mini-Sentry. You drop it somewhere so it harasses the enemy, and you fight with your primary (Rivet gun is very powerful). The thing is a nuisance more than a defensive weapon.

Torbjorn can't outfix Pharah's damage output. His turret is worse than the Tf2 turret in pretty much every way except time to build to full.
That said, as someone who plays Torb on defense sometimes I will say the cooldown shouldn't fully go down while a turret is up, it should lock at 3-4 seconds.
