Does anyone on /v/ actually like overerwatch over tf2?
Of course fucking not. Overwatch is designed to atract casual scum. But they had a shitton of advertising, so everyone gave it a try at first.
Now that Tf2 has matchmaking, it is objectively better than OW.Now if only we had our fucking pubs again...

I got burned out of tf2 with only 200 hours. I haven't touched it in like 4 months even with the new update because no valve servers and shit sounds horrible. I only have like 11 hours on overwatch and it's still pretty fun to me

Pub matchmaking literally ruined tf2 though.
It killed dedicated servers and forced valve to gimp the shit out of server plugins.
Tf2 wasn't designed around matchmaking let alone competitive play. It was designed around drop in drop out play on dedicated servers.

Overwatch is better designed in a lot of ways though.
No inventory management makes team composition more clear, as in, in tf2 if it says I have a sniper, I might actually have a huntsman sniper; in overwatch those are different classes entirely, not different weapons.
Also, no inventory management makes it not a wacky grindy or p2w gear treadmill, though granted, buying all the items in tf2 is probably cheaper than $40 but I don't know.
Also, Overwatch has headshots.
Also, Overwatch has more heros that can effectively break through no mans land like tracer and genji. TF2 really only has the spy and he might just get blow away by mistake anyway.
Overwatch has it's flaws but it's improved on tf2 in so many ways that make tf2 feel archaic.

Modern day TF2 is just awful. Looks ugly as sin, loadouts are stupid, just no fun to play at all.
That's why I'm very cautious about buying any game with dlc, even if it us free. I only bought Overwatch because I haven't had anything to play since Bloodborne.

OW characters compared to TF2 characters are shallow as all hell when it comes to what their gameplan is and the meta all comes down to picking a team of the characters that are best at doing that and best at countering the gameplan of the enemy character. A lot of the TF2 characters can do many things just inside 1 class. You have to pick Tracer if you want to harass, Reaper if you want to get close and shred tanks, or Genji for mobility and picks. Scout does all in one class and can switch between doing any of them at any given time.
Sniper being the only one with headshots, aside from a spy revolver, is probably one of the best things about TF2 since situations don't commonly come down to trying to get lucky and get a headshot to bullshit your way out of a bad situation, i.e. what crits do and how spies with the Ambassador play.
In reality Overwatch bedazzles players with a lot of base-layer polish but in the end is almost a decade behind TF2 in just about every category and would be behind TF2 in artistic polish as well had TF2 not thrown away the integrity of its 10/10 artstyle some years back.
