Only narrative and mission-wise. The gameplay in the full game has much more tools. I can't argue that the listening to the tapes to find where paz was wasn't awesome and better than most things in Phantom Pain. If they had time they probably would have put that in the game but they fucked up. Still i'd rather have all the tools of TPP.

For the PSP game catalog? Sure.
But since it was put as some main game, important in the series, let's compare to the others and see how "great" it is. Gameplay? Shallowest in the series. Stealth? Worst in the series. Map design? Mediocre. Boss fights? Bulletsponges with zero charm to them. Story, music and characters i won't even touch because that'll only spark subjective reasonings.
There's no greatness in Peace Walker, it's a mediocre MGS game.

having more tools doesnt automatically mean the game is better, ground zeroes is amazing particularly because it decides where it throws you at the start of the mission and with what equipment, letting you scavenge the rest from the map
then in NG+ runs they let you pick up the weapons from the casings on the ground which again is infinitely superior to retarded deployment system shit

literally how do you play ground zeroes for 77 hours
I loved Ground Zeroes. Downloaded it to PS3 at first but didn't like the framerate so I bought a PS4 with that game. Made me really hype for TPP.
When TPP arrived I had fun for a couple 80 hours but when the ending came it just felt wrong. Then again, ME3 left me with the same feeling. And now, 10 months later, I've started playing TPP again on PC and taking the game for what it is (great gameplay, not so great MG-story) it's a damn good game. But I still like the feeling I got from GZ more.
