Momentum carrying into jumps makes it so that any character who's fast on the ground is also a god in the air. They did it to balance fast characters. And it's a lot less fun, I agree.

Brawl had some really good stages but had some of the worst in Smash History. I like Melee maps more because you dont have to turn half of them off to keep your sanity. Smash4 was even worse in that regard

Brawl probably has the best casual experience with its good selection of stages and Subspace Emissary. Melee is the best for competitive and for speed running type things like break the targets. 64 and 4 are still fun though.
