I enjoyed deadpool.

Some people like truck simulators, they like the feeling of driving a truck from point A to point B.

The loading screens last maybe 3 seconds and once you actually get to the monster you don't have to worry about loading for at least a couple of minutes. Separation by areas allow you to retreat and be immediately safe. It's an instant game changer.
I know it exists because of hardware limitations but the only reason to change to open world would be to be trendy. If anything it would change the way the fights flow.
People are so in love with the idea of open world without really thinking why they want things to be open world.

While this is mostly true, race and sexuality do play into how characters interact with each other, their society, and how they view themselves, and there are some stories where they're important and add to the character such that messages would be lost if the character were straight and white, or they would be out of character for that setting.
The point isn't to kneejerk say "characters are ALL about their race/sexuality/sex/whatever" or "characters are NOTHING about their race/sexuality/sex/whatever", but rather that a character must be constructed and deconstructed as a whole and as a part of their setting and story, and those can and will influence the importance of various characteristics.

I like both games but ultimately Fallout 3 is all about atmosphere and little about story and roleplay gaming. The "some dude" thing in NV is deliberate. You're supposed to fill a blank slate without background (RPG and stuff). Obsidian added perks which give you a hint what role you want to play. In FO3 they were little more than state boosters. Obsidian also added way more dialogue for your states, again highlighting RPG factor. What you say matters and your states will affect the outcome.
We all know what a cluster fuck the Fallout 3 story was, pic related. I can understand how it feels more "epic", but it's poorly done and without any consideration for the many inconsistencies. You don't save the world in NV, but you help to shape the political map by forging alliances, exposing intrigues or scheming your own. Or you take those bastards simply down by brute force.
I'm not pretending the game is without its flaws, though. You can abuse and break it very easily. It all comes down to how much you want to stick to your role.
Fallout 3 is fun if you don't mind the main plot and just like to fuck around in the wastelands.

It's true, though. Great job system, likable characters, some of the music in the series, great story that doesn't take itself too seriously, a quest that spans multiple worlds, and fantastic graphics. Everything that a good game needs.
