Why does software mode look better than OpenGL?
cause youre stupid
>>344439496
It's not Software looking better.
It's just that Software turns off texture filtering.
Textures look better unfiltered when they are low resolution.
>>344439906
Pretty much this.
+ the all different, animated water texture on Software mode looks miles better than the static, wobbly surface on D3D / OGL
>>344439906
Oh and to add to that, you can play in hardware and turn off texture filtering with a simple console command.
GL_texturemode GL_Nearest_Mipmap_Linear
>>344440157
Hardware lighting and water looks better actually, just turn off texture filtering.
>>344439496
HL1 was designed for texture filtering, turning it off makes it look too much like Quake.

>Hardware lighting and water looks better actually
Lighting? Maybe.
Water? No.

>Water? No.
You're objectively wrong but I'm not going to argue with a moron on a taiwanese cartoon shitposting circlejerk.

I don't see how a static image with simple wobbling is better looking than the beautifully animated ripples with highlights and shadows on Software.

>I don't see how a static image with simple wobbling is better looking than the beautifully animated ripples with highlights and shadows on Software.
You've got them confused son, it's the other way around.
Hardware has 3D water + all those ripples effects.
Software only has the latter in less accurate form.
>>344439496
It's the texture filtering. It turns everything into a blurry greasy mess at those resolutions.

literally no other games ever managed to do military and special forces this good, the fucking way they move and their radio, shit is so OPERATOR
and the models were all really aesthetic
