Because it's cheaper and has exclusives. I still have my 2011 build. It isn't enjoyable to run but it does the job. Yet the last PC game I bought was probably Civ V Gods and Kings. There has been zero to play on a machine I don't enjoy and dint want to pay to keep up to date. When I can pay £280 once every 8 years and never worry about a thing and realistically lose nothing, I'll take that option.

a $250 aftermarket 480/1060 will be able to match that performance easy
