I was 2 so I can't imagine that I was doing much.
I wasn't born yet. :^)
I wonder what it's like for people browsing /v/ who are younger than Ocarina of Time, or heck the N64 for that matter.
I mean think about it, the best game of all time came out before they were conceived or were only a zygote in the grand scheme of things. It's not even the retrospect that baffles me, so much as it is the fact they grew up with the 7th gen. The Xbox 360/Wii/PS3 era raised them. With a growth environment of that ecosystem, how can bad tastes possibly not be ingrained in their DNA?
Conversely however, those who seek to walk the path less paved and join us, find themselves in a conundrum because the games have aged visually or audibly compared to today's games. They will never be able to enjoy them as we did unless their parents raised them in a controlled environ, or they came from a third world.
It's a fact that video games have become worse, but can it really be helped? Is it not just a product of the generation before (us), making the greatest hits of all time and then becoming complacent? Or is it the concept of diminishing returns we should blame, which Miyamoto warned us about?
We must deliberate on this if we are to move forward. Assess where we went wrong. Do what we can to help out our younger brothers and sisters see games as we did; as GAMES.
God rest your soul, Yokoi Gunpei; godfather of 90's gaming.

The 90's were special, especially if you were at least 8 (not super retarded and understood things) when it came to games.

I'm a 90's kid cause I was born in the 80's. You'd have to be a real piece of shit to call yourself a 90's kid when you were born in '92 and weren't even allowed to go out alone without an adult holding your hand when the most important things of the era were happening.
