DRM is pretty shitty because it boots you out of gameplay on connection loss and episodic structure is horrible but otherwise it's a great Hitman game.

Disguises are actually balanced this time around and there are more ways to kill people than even in BM. Levels are large and there are a lot of NPCs (though crowds are props like in A Murder of Crows).

>Same system as Absolution, except skinned differently (Instinct, Cover, etc)
Instinct was almost mandatory in Absolution because disguises basically didn't work without it. It's not necessary at all here and neither is cover, for that matter.

I might buy it when it's out, a lot cheaper and of it isn't always online.

I'm certainly not paying more than £10 a year after release. And since by the time its that price were going to be 2 years on I'll probably just wait for it to be free on PS plus.

They would have done themselves a favour by making episode 1 free.

Have you ever heard anything but horror stories about DRM in general? It's the only real flaw with the game though.

You only lose them forever if you die, there are infinite restarts until you die or kill the target.

i feel like they will since every elusive target has a briefing video and new recorded dialogue. would be a waste to discard it permanently

IO claimed that missing enough targets will mean you won't unlock everything.

If playing while not connected to the internet is something that is important to you, do not buy this game. It is technically feasible but has many restrictions.

>>344405040
I personally crashed to desktop while alt tabbing to a massive auto cad file I wanted to close to improve performance. It did not count as a failed mission for me, likely because I had not yet killed the ET.
>>
>>344405458
Just the servers not responding and losing all your progression on a level. Makes no absolute sense to play a game that glorifies roaming around its levels waiting for a single window of opportunity just to get kicked out of your play because your Internet dies out.

Also I've got to say that Marrakesh really grew on me. I still don't like the bazaar area, though, that shit looks the fucking same and it's full of "a small alley no one really goes to except when you want to knock someone out, have fun being spotted :^)".

And Jesper has been gone for the long time, he didn't work on Absolution as well, Trailer music is written by some random DJ, not Jesper.

Also, after BM there was a big exodus and fuckton of people left IO to make Heroes and Generals.

This is what devs spent time of, instead of making it good.

>>
>>344406023
It's done to punish lazy devs who want to release unoptimized shit on consoles. You either release a good game or go bankrupt patching it.
Back before PS3\Xbox360 days patch were a really rare occasion and no one complained.

>>
>>344407552
Yeah it does

a lot of it is a rehash from the previous series

Most games do this, like Saints row 3 and 4, or GTA 4 and 5. In their case it was just a very shallow update on graphics, which kind of applies here.

>>344405795
While certifcation is annoying and stupid, you should really just not have to rely on patching your problems away and ice bugs before release.
>>
>>344407647
So that's a problem all games have currently then. Graphics are plateauing right now, and I'd rather have it look more like Absolution without all the shitty filters than reverting back to Blood Money graphics.
>>
>>344407651
>not knowing that they're going to bring back all elusive targets because people won't stop crying about it
>>
>>344408123
Fuck no. I love the clean style of Blood Money and the new game over the annoyingly gritty contrasty grindhousy Absolution graphics.
>>
>>344408123
It's not just about the graphics. What IO did in TM is they took apart Absolution to make it more BM-ish. But at the core of it it looks like Absolution.

Just like GTA 5 looks like GTA 4 no matter which way you try to cut it.
>>
>>344408461
>Games on the same engine look similar
>>
>>344408548
Exactly, they didn't have the balls to experiment with a new engine (not just balls, but probably money)

If they wanted to make a spiritual successor to Blood Money, they shouldn't have done it on an Absolution engine.
>>
>>344406361
This game has the best AI in the series.

I know that the previous games didn't set a high bar in that regard, but it's the truth.
>>
>>344408643
As long as it plays like an updated Blood Money and it looks like an updated Blood Money who cares what engine they use?
>>
>>344408643
Why on Earth would they make a new engine? Do you realize they used the same engine from Codename 47 to Kane & Lynch 2?
>>
>>344408745
But it doesn't play like Blood Money, it plays like Absolution imitating Blood Money.

It's pretty good, some downsides though.

>Forgettable soundtrack
>Buggy
>DRM
>Have to unlock some pretty basic gear like remote explosives or poison vials by playing a specific level several times, people who decide to buy the game piecemeal instead of the whole package will be screwed over

On the other hand
>Massive levels, Sapienza is up there as one of the best hits in the entire franchise
>AI is pretty decent, guards aren't telepathic but at the same time they're not fucking blind
>Disguise system is hands down the best its ever been, most intuitive midpoint between being OP and being useless. Disguises no longer make you invisible like BM but they fool a lot of people, while still you'll have to make use of regular stealth in some cases.
>Score and reward system that encourages you to be creative with your kills rather than being clean, necessarily. As such instead of min-maxing the level like in previous games you're encouraged more to kill the target using Looney Tunes logic, even if it causes collateral damage, which is more fun.
>Plot so far seems to be pretty decent, the big bad has a good setup, hopefully they don't ruin it.

Overall, I'd say give it a shot.
>>
Looks like 1 episode is locked behind season pass
People who buy episode by episode are fucked
>"For players who own the Full Experience or own the combination of Intro Pack + Upgrade Pack, the Summer Bonus Episode is included at no additional cost and will unlock on July 19th. For all other players, the Summer Bonus Episode will be available for individual purchase later in the Season, packaged together with a third bonus mission for one price. At that time, Full Experience and Upgrade Pack owners will also get access to the third bonus mission at no additional cost."
>>
>>344408805
Apart from the instinct mode I literally see no similarities. No slow motion shooting, no stupid Quenting Tarantino characters, no fucking boss fights, no cutscene kills, no Agent 47 with human emotions bullshit, no worthless disguises, no sneak from point A to point B without getting spotted levels.

Just a bunch of classic Hitman assassin levels.

What about the whole "can't see what's happening on the other room even with the doors open" fiasco?
>>
>>344409109
I dunno. But at least this time it is completely optional and disabling it will just make the game harder, not near impossible.
>>
>>344409109

All Instinct does is show the information you'd previously use your magic GPS map for, I don't really see it as being game-breaking.
>>
>>344409109
Why would they? It's like the map was in older games except you don't have to stop, it looks nice and is less overpowered.
