But it didn't, because of Amiibos and first party sales.
So while it didn't manage to replicate the financial success they had for the Wii, they didn't take as hard a hit with the Wii U either.

Like I said, I had just opened the thread at the time so I might've missed some context, my bad. But my point still stands. Nintendo really does have the advantage of owning most of their stuff so that makes it easier for them to stabilize their finances in the long run. A company that relied heavily on third party stuff would be in much more danger if the third parties starting backing out on them due to reduced profits.
