GH3 is fucking easy mode.
The timing window for HO/PL is ridiculous.

>Those bad-ass boss battles.
Fucking loved it.
Sadly my GH3 disc was all fucked up whenever I tried to replay it. No bass and the music was really low volume.

lol
Guitar Hero 3 was the glitchiest of the bunch with some of the worst authoring.

Check out Phase Shift on pc. Runs on literal toasters, takes any gh or rb controllers, has online play and tons of custom songs and themes.
I know that feel though, I miss the rhythm gaming boom, too.
I'd rather have GH2's less than stellar cover versions which were awesome to play over every sub-par setlist that came after, prioritizing a song's popularity over how fun it is to play.
I also like how the early GH/Rock Band crew had some select joke songs like Thunderhorse, Trogdor, Timmy And The Lords Of The Underworld, they just wanted to make a fun game.
GH3 had people who didn't know how to chart some things and literally said "fuck it" and just put in some patterns, not to mention most songs were a bore to play.

I agree (although I liked the covers, it felt like we were an actual cover band in the story that way, but whatever.)
One thing I'll give to Rock Band 4 is that they chose tracks the same way they did for GH2, and Rhythm Authors did a great job authoring the songs to be fun and unique experiences. Much better note tracks than most of RB3, but that's about all it did better.

Yeah, I personally did like the covers and the story integration so to speak, but I can see why people who've been spoiled with master tracks already would hate it.
I hoped they would do well with RB4, but it's been a pretty big mess. Disappointing setlist to me, not to mention the DLCs.
