Should I go for a PS3 or an Xbox 360? I dont have a lot of $$$ to splash so I can buy either of those two. I had a PS2 before, and would love to own something similar but better. I havent played online before on consoles so I dont know whether Id like it or hate it.

you use the internal hard drive of the ps3 so if its not a newer slim one then I'd suggest putting a bigger one in, I usually run it this way and move games around with FTP client if the drive gets too full, games range from 2GB and up depending on what they are. You can also 'backup' games from the game disk to the internal drive so if you've got a mate with some games or a rental store this is pretty handy. I dunno if they ever worked out being able to play games from an external drive sadly, though

Check out the games you want to play on either console. Exclusives award goes to the PS3, as the 360 slowed down with new IPs past 2010. However, a lot of older multiplats are atrocious on the PS3. didn't really get better until past 2010.
Take a good week or so and I can literally guarantee that you'll have a working system for under 100$, possibly 80$. Like me. Good luck
