Atlus might as well join Nintendo. Monolithsoft and Intelligent Systems have been outshining any other company's attempt at RPGs by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar.
Disgaea 5 was pretty great. Unfortunately Atelier Sophie was a disappointment. I hope FFXV and Persona 5 will turn out to be great.

I think the whole postgame stuff is actually less fun because you're trying to find the most broken / fastest way to grind. It's also one of the shortest postgames in disgaea from what I heard, took me like 70 hours to get the plat while people say Disgaea 3 / 4 take at least 200 hours.

That sure was a negative factor when PG made both TW101 and Bayo 2 (both of them being top tier action games while still providing good fanservice shots too).
Oh hey, remember when Nintendo revived Itagaki's Devil's Third, or that time Nintendo bought the Fatal Frame IP but let the developers continue to develop Fatal Frame 4 and Fatal Frame 5 the way the devs wanted to?
The only issues I have with Nintendo is limited print runs on the localized versions of these releases and digital only for Fatal Frame 5 and some censorship on costumes.
They were still largely released with their translations intact.

Nintendo didn't force Valhalla to change any adult content or cursing in Devil's Third.
Nor did they censor the violence in Fatal Frame Shrine Maidens, with the only major change being removal of gravure bathing suit / underwear in favor of Nintendo-themed costumes.
The game's content wasn't hurt at all minus one implied scene of objectification with the gravure costume.

These other games are abit different in partnership association, though Fatal Frame is pretty much 1st party now so it makes sense why the change was made since Nintendo had more in the decision power on it.

The reason why Paper Mario has become experimental is because the highers ups at Nintendo don't want 2 concurrent Mario RPG lines and they believe Mario & Luigi to be their RPG line of spinoffs.

Star Fox was ruined for the sake of gimmicks.
All it takes is one suggestion from someone at Nintendo to try something "new".

But the controls aren't bad.
The problem with that game is that the replayability is ruined since you get to pick levels as opposed to doing one path runs with unlockables paths like a traditional SF.
Also, it's another re-endition of the first Starfox and lacks the versus local or online multiplayer that it could've had.
The controls work fine and well, they just have a learning curve to them.
It still plays like Starfox which is more than can be said of Sticker Star.

Zelda always gets love put into it because it's probably the most important Nintendo game that needs it.
Mario is family fun 5 billion games per year, but Zelda has a giant fan base, most of them aren't children, and it only gets 1 mainline game every 5-7 years.
Releasing a bad mainline Zelda game has bigger chance of being a death sentence than any other Nintendo series.
