It's an amazing game the first time through. Once you know how to beat it, it gets kinda short.
Why are launch games today so shitty?
The last really great launch game for a new console was TP, but that also came out on Gamecube. 2001 was crazy in comparison.

Like Majora's Mask, but imagine that when the moon falls you don't get to go back in time, and you have to start the whole game over.I honestly believe this is the most hardcore game ever made.
It's pretty good, practically made for replaying.

One of the worst games ever made. I grew up playing lots of RTS games, and I was stunned at how minimal and pathetic the content of this title was when I first played it. Why was this well-received? I think console players and Japanese have no standards, and are disrespectful to the true games of the genre.

The first two Pikmin games are pretty good. I don't know how 3 is like.
It's more of a Zelda/Metroid-adventure sort of game than an RTS. It lacks the whole base-building/expanding aspect, which is a big part of the genre. Combat is also more twitchy than in other RTS games Then Pikmin 2 also added a dungeon crawling side to the game, which removes it even more from RTS. Really the only thing that connects it to the RTS genre is the fact that you get an army to grow and make it do shit for you.
it's pretty good, so is the second one but it had a greater emphasis on dungeon crawling, which I didn't really like.

Pikmin is a very specific type though. You never have control over the map or individual units, only over Olimar. Treasure collecting is also something that I don't know if any other game besides pikmin does.
