I really like it but it makes the game super bright just how I like it. The mod that makes the soldier look all fucked up is New Vegas Redesigned 3 and adds in a ton of subtle changes like that. On a cheapass playthrough it makes sense since jfp 357 is ez cheap to make and efficient.
All the other small pistols ate really shit in comparison. Until you get a .45. As brokenly op as aLSiD unique is. .45 super in an hd slide, suppressed 1911a1 is murder machine.

If you go through the trap pass at Black Mountain like that, there's a dead NCR trooper near all the bear traps where the boulder comes down. Just steal his armor, put it on, and walk right past the guards onto the monorail.
