Depends on the game and whether or not the humans are stylized in an appealing way, and how that stacks up against the other available races.
For example, in WoW you're wrong if you pick a human. There are sexier races if you only care about boner appeal, and if you want to be cute, brawny, funny, edgy, or what have you, there are better race options than human.
In something like Blade and Soul, however, humans are stylized to the point of being a fun, compelling race, and as such the choice is valid.
