What games have the best dialogue systems?
Planescape Torment, NWN 2 - Mask of the Betrayer and Age of Decadence come to mind.

Fallout 4

I feel like VTM:B perfected that style, other games either have too many options or too few, VTM:B always seemed to have the absolutely perfect amount.

Yeah, VtM: B slipped my mind, but that game's got it good too.

Alpha Protocol

I hope the dialogue in Mankind Divided is as good. I enjoyed these 'persuasion' conversations in HR but too bad there was like... four of them.

I know you're just memeing, but the 3rd person perspective absolutely broke immersion for me completely. Is there a mod out that gets rid of this and keeps it like 3/NV?
>>344297283
Yeah AP did it pretty well. The timed choices and simply having a tone of response made the conversations feel a lot more natural. The decent writing helped a lot too.

>yfw he was actually Tong
>yfw you were helping Young Tracer Tong escape

This implies you can categorize people by alpha omega and beta archetypes. It's trash.
>>344296571
The ones where you're not a self insert and the character you play already has a personality and speaks on his or her own.

Having no real choice is what broke it for me

>His face when cover got busted

In that game, a single person can show all three traits. It's there to advise you how to interpret a particular statement, not on what the person's overall personality type is.

>3rd person perspective
play in first person and turn off "cutscene" or something in the option.
it turn into real time dialog like skyrim, but you can move around and push S to exit.

Fallout 4, because it gives all the hardcore RPGamers what they want, collecting junk and no tedious dialogue.
I seriously hope none of you actually used the dialogue augments in DX:HR. You get plenty of information just from the way they act.

Dialogue system at its finest

DXHR's dialogue battles were pretty good I think.

It cost like a single Praxis. Also, I'm autistic, so social cues for me are like Sanskrit to you.
>>344299810
Telling Daud that he was full of shit and jealous of the augs was satisfying.
>>344299690
I think you meant:
>Yes.
>Yes?
>Sarcastic Yes.
and
>Yes, but not right now.

>>344303816More proof that NV is best game, even in dialogue

It makes for a better experience, also some information can only be obtained through it(Like there is more then single floor access to data center etc)
