>morrowind: sympathetic antagonist with thought out goals and motivation
>skyrim: plot device disguised as a main antagonist
Will TES ever have a good villain again?

Who needs good characters when you can climb mountains?

>sympathetic antagonist
I remember that when I was playing Morrowind at some point I got a letter from Dagoth Ur who invited me to join him under the Red Mountain. Anyone tried to do it?Also, Azura is a bitch
Do you think they will abandon dragons and dragonshouts in TESVI? I honestly liked it in Skyrim.

probs will get rid of dragons but not shouts since other people learnt it without being dragonborn, i asume it would be a long process that requires some sort of object or long questing for it

>Morrowind: Slow-burn mainquest that revolves around the player with absurd intricacies and lots of lore to fully understand. Very light use of leveled lists. Tons of sidequests. Extremely long guilds. Shit breaks and begets other shit to break, so there will be no "master of everything" run.
>Oblivion: Slow/Medium mainquest that revolves around being the errand boy of someone else; but still decent lore and cool locations to play with. Less SQs, but some absurdly unique ones and pretty fun. Leveled lists gone wild.
>Skyrim: "Dragonborne~" in about 1-2 quests into the MQ. Antagonist barely does anything, no sense of dread or doom. SQs are short and mostly unfulfilling. Entire game is easy at any player level unless you move the arbitrary difficulty slider around.
And lets' not talk about the abominations of structure that Fallout 3/4 are. Bethesda is kill - I'm 100% expecting the next TES game to give you a family with a lost kid you need to care about; as well as warn you to take breaks and ask if things are too difficult if you die.
They'll also avoid putting it somewhere interesting because it'll be too much effort and too much to take in for children. No Black Marsh, Elswyer, or Valenwood for you.

What's the main antagonist of Oblivion? Never bothered to play that piece of shit after the first Oblivion portal.

It's Dagon. You also don't get to fight him yourself at the end.

>Wanted to buy Morrowind during the sale
>Only 40% off for a 10+ year old game
Thanks Bethesda

I think Oblivion was the first game where I played as the side character helping out the real protagonist
>>344297435
Interesting concept really. Could have gone further with it though, maybe having the HoK follow Martin on his own quests like a follower.

>Could have gone further with it though
That's impossible kids need their power fantasy or they won't enjoy the game.
