Chrono Cross or Final Fantasy 8?
Which one was a bigger disappointment for you?
Chrono Cross was good and FF8 was not.
Why is she so perfect?

Came here to post this.
FF8 was an abortion from start to finish, CC just ran out of money a little at the end.
FF8 was a different take on the FF series had amazing graphics for it's time because decent artstyle, a story that kept you interested (whether it was shit or not), great monster design, amazing minigames and one of the best soundtracks of all time.
Chrono Cross didn't look as detailed as FF8, artstyle was somewhat bland, it was very niche and unaccesable, it was very experimental. Amazing OST but overall you really had to put decent effort into the game to get into it..
Both were great, though CC was expected to be a sequel the dissapointment should be bigger.

>artstyle was somewhat bland
Really?

Well given the fact that most of the game is in different types of beaches and sea it really was.

There's literally one beach area in the entire game. Did you even play past the first 45 minutes?
Also, having a motif is not the same as blandness at all.

>whole game has the art based of sea, beaches, islands coves, corals and shit
>Did you even play past the first 45 minutes?
Have you?

There's a lot more you can do in a tropical setting than beaches and sea.
Chrono Cross did that.
I loved both.
They both have their flaws, yes; FF8's ridiculous we all grew up together but we forgot lol plot, or the Draw system; Chrono Cross' filler character saturation and quite brutal grimdarkness of what happened from Trigger.
But they both have huge redeeming features. FF8's Card game, sheer ridiculosity of the lolplot, sexy Quistis. Cross' unbelievably beautiful score and art direction, that bittersweet true ending.
Neither disappointed me. If you're going to call out games for that, call out the single player MMO plays itself history lesson of FF12, the too-blatant corridor simulator of FF13.
Or, for another genre, the chronically unfinished MGS V. Or the maybe Inafune was a hack after all Mighty No.9.

hard to say, both were sub-par games that were follow-ups to really good games

>the too-blatant corridor simulator of FF10.

>CC just ran out of money
Stop pulling facts out of your ass, that's not true in the slightest.
