Just beat the game, gotta say I was a little disappointed by the fewer endings, the animations, and the fewer puzzle rooms. But once again uchi outdoes himself at being a master of mindfuckery. Even going so far to cover his tracks and explain how akane and junpei could be there despite contingency errors.

So what did ya'll think of it? I was a little disappointed by the fewer endings, fewer rooms, and the character animations.
But uchi did a good job of covering his tracks and explaining how akane and junpei could be there. Which, tenmyouji was a bitch, his character change was far too drastic for only one year.
Also, of course in true uchi fashion he ends it on a cliffhanger with an even bigger threat looming in the distance. So do ya'll think the leader of the cult will end up being snake and will we get to figure out what happened to the other participants of 999 and vlr?

There's a rather vocal number of people who are shitposting about it and focusing on the flaws rather than acknowledging the good stuff.
I would say it's easily the worst out of the trilogy thanks to its presentation and very clearly rushed dev cycle, but honestly it's a miracle we got the game at all so I'm willing to cut it some slack. The puzzle rooms were decent, but not as varied as VLR was. Better than 999 for sure.Everything with C team was fantastic while Q-team I kinda hated going back to. Eric and Mira were both kind of played out, I feel like we've already had these type of characters before in the games.
Some of the dropped plot threads are disappointing, but I wouldn't stress them that much as a lot of the answers we'd been waiting for were answered.
It's a solid C+, satisfying for fans but if you're expecting the sky you're gonna get majorly disappointed.

I think that's where I faced the most disappointment, 999->vlr was fantastic. Everything about VLR was done better than 999. It had VA, while still focusing on reading, the characters were diverse, the mystery was engaging, and sigma was the funniest damn protag I've ever played as in a VN. So going for VLR to ZTD of course my expectations were astronomical.
As for the dropped plot threads, mind enlightening me? I may know what you're talking about, but not 100%.

I was referring more to stuff like Kyle, the Myrmidons, what the fuck happened to everyone else, if Alice and Clover were sent back to the past, etc. etc. Lot's of side plots that received no closure.
and personally I still think 999 bests VLR in story and atmosphere.

The atmosphere in 999 was certainly the most intense, yet the shit with the world being destroyed in VLR was a little more interesting than saving a girl 9 years in the past. I think that's where ZTD failed a little is we already knew half of what was going on, in 999 and VLR you literally don't know shit or how any of the paranormal bs is happening.

I think the idea of having to interact as each team was a mistake. At that point you don't have any of the tension considering you know what everyone else picked.
All 9 being portrayed as innocent at the end also hurts it overall in my opinion. I think that it still could've been well done if you observed others through the monitors or had pre-recorded messages of some sort. Having everyone wake up at different times still could've worked in that case I think.

I would be so down for this, hell just giving ace a chance to redeem himself and having snake and seven back would be worth it. Also I don't think uchi would end this series with one more game either, he might end the current arc, but I really think he's going for the long run like kodaka.
