Guild bow is better than ever. Backhopping twice in a row while holding the charge button will give you an instant LV3 charge, ALL bows have power AND arc shots, and there's lv1 and lv2 power coatings, plus lv1 and lv2 element boost coatings.

Adept makes you fucking invincible, as if you dodge any part of an attack with a demon dodge you turn into a whirling missile of death, refill some Demon Gauge, and get two free demon dashes by holding a direction. Shit's completely whack in a good way.
Basically if you're more interested in maneuverability and slashing around then go with Adept. Striker is for if you're a dash juice junkie.

Not if you're someone who actually cares about Axe Mode, sadly. The motion values for Axe Mode have been gutted consistently over time. I appreciate the roll into upswing and the finisher, and you know what I appreciate the motion value buffs and improvements to the finisher in Gen's axe mode. Sadly, axe mode is pretty much completely fucking useless in Gen as literally everything focuses on the sword. Have 2+ arts? Infinite Demon Riot Energy Charge. Aerial? Sword gets a swing on the way up. Adept? Demon Riot closes the gap in power between the axe finisher and the sword double upswing, plus the latter is far less disruptive online.

Adept IG has the bug have NO stamina. Which means you can't recall it. It'll limp over to you, or you need to go over to it.
On the flip side, you can perform an attack after an Adept dodge that makes the bug attack in concert with your stick, stealing juice from whatever part of the monster you attack and dealing extra damage.
It's honestly not that crippling once you put time into figuring it out, it's just a little slower, and not even by that much as proven by being fewer than 40 seconds off of the latest speedkill.

Hunting parties have a limit of three deaths shared between all four players. So long as you don't die three times and single-handedly ruin everything for everybody else, you'll be fine. You may have heard that the gear grind is harsh in this game but to get acceptable stuff, especially early game, it's really not.

The HH Hunter Arts don't seem worth it at all. Even Harmonize seems kind of meh because it takes a few seconds to execute and I really shouldn't be missing that often.
I'm probably going to just end up using two of the general Hunter Arts. I'm thinking about the Evade one so I can avoid wombo combos and maybe one of the healing ones just for the utility.

I did it all the way up into High Rank. Just don't expect worthwhile armor skills and you're golden. Each piece actually has 10 more defense than normal so you'll actually be harder to kill as well.

It's funny because Dreadking Rathalos is easily my favorite redesign of the Los set, comes with a baller ass cape, and is pretty much tailor made for my hunting preference of aerial GS.

I think it'd be interesting to see what kind of sets they use and how they play with some of the weapons I've never tried out before.

There was a channel that uploaded various speedruns from niconico, but it got taken down so now you have to find them individually
You'll see a lot of silver sol mixes for weakness exploit, super critical, razor sharp, etc., or los EX mixes with the Akantor R boots and gloves for weakness exploit, attack up, heat adaptation, and blunt benefit in appropriate zones
You'll see some people talk about how great deviant sets are but since they have no slots it's difficult to stack offensive skills on them and speedrunners have largely left them behind as a result

No need for that, since everyone has absolute evade at the ready at all times.
Maybe on a CB set, because it doesn't benefit from crit all that much, and you can't GP->AED roars anymore. So you have to awkwardly walk up to the monster in axe mode and press X+A.

Not him, but I have the MH 3DS and a Vita, I'd still prefer MH on vita. The Vita would just suit the game so much better. The online would be infinitely better, controls would be superior with 2 sticks, higher resolution.
I love my 3DS but it's not suited to MH.

There's not that many important monsters in X with high grade roars that can't be dealt with through blocking, absolute evading, adept evading, etc., but there's some people who use dreadking rathalos to deal with it
Expect to hunt a lot of rathalos in this game
