Low acceleration means that hitting things like walls and obstacles will affect you more cause you gain speed much slower. Having low acceleration but high top speed is usually the trade off in kart racers.

The problem with lightweights is that that their top speed is pretty low, so if they go up against a heavyweight that doesn't stop, they get left behind.

You unlock Drumstick like halfway through the game, I think. He shows up as one of the frogs wearing a rooster hat on the main aisle; you squish the frog and he pops out.
TT was actually a bitch to unlock. Pretty sure you had to beat all the Time Trials on at least the first few levels. Can't be arsed to look it up.

If anything was bad, it was the fucking monkey in Timesplitters 2 and FP. He was fast as fuck if you turned on character stats, and regardless he was no taller than any other character's knees. In a game where your aim auto-levels to horizontal if you stop aiming up and down for a bit.They devs were well aware, because they made a profile-specific "you used the monkey X times" counter just to shame you for doing it.

Really? Don't know how I never figured that out, but auto-level was the bane of my existence in controller-shooters.Not having inverted vertical aim on controller fucks me up really hard. I use mouse with normal aim though. I blame playing Battlezone on a Sidewinder stick as a kid.

I have a soft spot for "winner is bigger" game modes. Unreal Tournament 99 had Fatboy, where your character literally gained weight when they got more kills and turned into a stickman if you died a lot.
Dota 2 had one as well on D2Ware, which was one of the earlier Dota 2 modding platforms and basically had you choose 3 UT-style mutators to play a normal game of Dota with. Most of the time people picked shit like randomized abilities and damage output multipliers, but there was one called Fat-o-Meter where your character got ever so slightly bigger every time you got a last hit. By the end of the game, some people would look like the pic.

Played Timber on 1st playthrough way back.
On recent 2nd Playthrough, picked Pipsy at first because she was popular -- but switched to Drumstick when Pipsy's lack of speed made bosses too difficult.
Drumstick is best.
