Dragoon had an interesting combat system, and turning into a Dragoon was fun, but the characters were such 1 dimensional anime tropes it made me want to gag.
Also the music is a shit. Seriously, this is the battle music. It didn't fit the setting at all and had random harps playing. It was just so jarring.

also, this games soundtrack isn't amazing, but its solid both for its time and in retrospect. Fun fact, the original composer of LoD submitted two tracks to the Japs in order to become composer for the game, one track was completely disregarded, the other one stayed largely the same and was, in actuality, the opening theme for the game: "If you still believe in love"

Seriously. I occasionally go back and replay old PS1 JRPGs that I bought ages ago, but I refuse to touch that game. One of the worst gaming experiences I ever had.
Pirates complain about the game, and they have the option of savestate. Not backtracking for minutes, through waves of enemies, just to save.
