Have you even played the "skate" games?
instead of pressing x y and using a retarded balance bar you can actually fluidly skate realistically with board control.
Despite the story mode and all that the core game mechanics in Skate surpass tony hawk on ALL levels.

Tony Hawk games had better level design. Each level was a small, but intricately designed skate parks with lots of obstacles and ramps to skate. Skate had lots of nothing between each park, and the parks didn't really have much in them. You can't do crazy shit like the Tony Hawk games, doing regular plain tricks are considered an accomplishment in Skate.

Toribash outright blows though. A better simile would be that Skate is to PR as Tony Hawk is to BF2, but that's not very good. Skate manages to be both more realistic yet feel faster and more fun at the same time. It's pretty impressive, honestly.

Holy shit it's the same game every time, at this point there are so many that why should I care about any kind of sequels or budgets going toward it? It's like asking for more indie puzzle platformers, there are enough to last a lifetime. Let other genres have the spotlight. Preferably one with modding tools. Fucking EA.

Fight Night Round 2 got boxing right.
Forza added a Clutch mechanic in their games for manual transmission, nothing has felt right since.
i know it's ubisoft but that looked good imo.
Also skate is what made me skate in real life.
It worked better than pro skater 4, because all tricks in skate series are real and look exactly like that.
Easiest trick to do is a pop shuvit and tre-flips are hard both in real life and in game.
